Daily Progress.

db curls: 2×8@22.

Hey, at least I lifted. To give you some idea of how unwell I am, I skipped boot camp yesterday. I think, barring typhoons or my wife’s birthday, that’s the first boot camp I’ve skipped. Maybe the second.

Daily progress.

db flies: 2×8 @ 30/27.Dubious form on the first. The left shoulder *really* complains on these.

db press: 2×8@44.

Pushups: 27/20/17. Up up up!

French Press: 7/3@44. So the answer to not having small weights for the barbell was to use the really big ones. I’ll keep it at 44 – I didn’t think I’d make even 7 on the first set.

Crunches: 40/30/25@22. Faster with the plate ;) I remember when this was my limit for straight crunches!

Daily Progress.

Alternating shoulder press: 8/6@29.5 Up 2.5 lb, down 2 reps. I’ll take that. Triceps were screaming when I started these, from Boot Camp yesterday.

Side Raises:2×8@15. Left shoulder was more friendly today – maybe up next week.

Lunges: Fuck that. I did about a hundred jump squats and stepups yesterday. I get enough legs at boot camp. This is *my* time.

Trap shrugs: 3×8@15. So upper body instead :) Nice and light to get the form embedded. These can pretty much double next week.

Crunches:30/20/20@22. I decided doing 160 crunches in a session was a waste of time, for two reasons; firstly, low-weight-high-reps is not something I really believe in, and secondly, it fucking took forever. So I grabbed a 22lb plate. Much faster!

One more week of this, and if I still feel frustrated (though I am making progress) I’ll go back to the same workout every other day. I’m just not sure I *need* a split at this point – I’ll save it for a serious plateau.

Daily Progress.

db flies:db, 2×8 @ 27. Huzzah.

db press: 2×8@44

Pushups: 25/18/15

French Press: 8/8/12@22. Barely even trying. I need to up the weight on these, but I don’t have small plates for the barbell.

Crunches: 75/45/35. I’m not sure Jess did that many. I think she slacked the third set….

Daily Progress.

Alternating shoulder press: 2×8@27. Up a couple, huzzah. Decided it was less effort to lift it than to switch out the plates on the dumbells.

Side Raises: 2×8@15. Easyish. Left shoulder still complains. Fuck the left shoulder.

Lunges: 3×8@15. I know, 15. But hey, at least I did them. Apparently changing plates really is too hard today.

Crunches: 60/40/40. These were sheer agony today, for some reason.

Daily Progress.

DB rows: db, 2×8@66.

Bicep curls: db, 2×8@27. Up a little again. Cheating the form on the concentric for the last few reps to compensate for the left arm, but at least I’m getting a good eccentric.

Crunches:70/40/40

Daily progress.

db flies:db, 3×8 @ 22. I got 3 reps at 27, and the left shoulder failed. Even at 22, it’s complaining mightily. So frustrating. Still, 3×8 will do til I build strength in it.

db press: 3×8 @37. Nice little increase :) Up to 44 next week, back down to 2×8.

Pushups: 22/18/13

French Press: 2×8 @ 22. Everything works the goddamn triceps. Down on last time, but failure, pretty much.

Crunches: 70/40/30

Eh. Maintenance. That’s ok – after a week off I was expecting worse. But I really have to get back into it. Nice to have Jess here telling me how much weight I’ve lost, though :) And I did a full pushup with megan sitting on my back over the weekend!

Alternating shoulder press: 2×8 @ 25. Up 3. This is still the very limit of that left shoulder, but the limit is up from last week :)

Side Raises: 2×8@15. Nice. Form giving up a little at the end, but slowing it down between reps saw me through.

Lunges: Get fucked. Boot Camp yesterday started with climbing 30 flights of stairs. As a warm up. My legs are done. I’ll add squats next week.

Crunches: 70/50/50

Something we did in boot camp yesterday absolutely hammered my lats, which is a shame, because today is lat day. Still, all lat work is good lat work, and of all the muscles I don’t have, I miss my lats the most.
